Social Media

Use social media to promote your workshops. Post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and any electronic newsletters, library blogs or other media.

  • Keep your post short, and when possible, include a picture (from the public domain or with permission) that relates to what you will be doing in the workshop. For instance:
    • "Build your baby’s brain power! Come to four Mother Goose on the Loose Hatchlings: In the Nest workshops on days, dates, at time at the library. For parents with newborns up to 4 months; call phone number today to register."
  • One week later, follow up with another post:
    • "Have you registered yet for the Hatchlings: In the Nest workshops on day, date,  at time at the library? Call us at phone number and join us for four fun, early literacy building activities.  (Add in the information regarding who should come...i.e. new parents with newborns from birth to four months.)
  • One week before the workshop, post again:
    • “Calling all parents with newborns!  Come to four amazing Hatchlings: In the Nest workshop on day, date at time at the library. Register at phone number and join in the fun on day, date and time at the library. For parents with newborns."
  • Alternatively:
    • If you have a newborn baby (up to 4 months old), join us for four one-hour session of Hatchlings: In the Nest. Learn songs and rhymes to share with your unborn baby, hear tips on child development, have fun with other parents of newborns, and receive a gift. Presented by your local library at location on day, date, at time. Call phone number to register now.
  • One day before the workshop, post again:
    • Do you have a newborn baby? Would you like to learn new ways to build your infant’s brain power, through fun and easy activities? Join your local librarian for “Mother Goose on the Loose Hatchlings: In the Nest.”  Meet other parents of newborns, get lots of useful tips, and have fun!  At place, on day, date, at time. Hope to see you there! Call phone number to register now.

-Ask your community partners to post on their social media; this has been an effective way to draw participants!

-Ask library uses to share the posts on their social media accounts as well, to reach people who aren’t yet library users.

-Consider translating your message into other languages used in your community and posting those as well.

-Use a hashtag for your library (#[YourLibraryName]).

-Make a short promo video for Instagram or TikTok.
